I have some exciting news for those interested. All of us here at Swerd Publishing are busy creating a new product in the fitness industry.
This new product is going to help those in need get into shape. Our software will track customers progres and our DVD and guides will help them achieve their goals.
This new product is expected to be released in December 2010 however as we get more and more involved the product gets more and more complex. So without being optimistic the product will probably be released around February 2011.
So what about the name of this new product?
Well, if there are any marketers out there reading this blog you may like this little leak. Because by knowing the name of a product with good branding means you can cash in by targeting the name in advertising campaigns. If you know the name before any other marketers, you've hit gold.
So, the name?
The name of the next product that will rock the fitness and weight loss industry is called "Ablicious".
Until next time...

Get noticed online
Some people think it's extreamly hard to get their website noticed, some people find it impossible. Some people find driving traffic to their website as simple as 1, 2, 3.
In this article I will talk about how Swerd Publishing get to the top spot in google for one of their car related websites.
I am not going to reveal the actual website and will use a different type of can in my examples.
Lets say the website is about the Toyota Supra.
First put the car make in your domain name. Eg. www.mytoyotasuprarules.com
Now to start getting your name out there.
You can use video marketing. Go and record some of the car at the sace track, inside the car etc etc. Post these videos on youtube and other video sites with a link embedded in the video to your site.
Article marketing: Write articles about the car and in the article footer adda link to your site.
It is also very important to keep fresh content on your website. Stale websites fall in google results!!
Link building: My biggest tip is to naturally build links slowely! Do not smap your link, do not use auto link builders. This will hurt you!
Swerd Publishing use these methods as their main source of traffic for all websites publised. These methods are no secret at all. Just take your time and let it happen naturally.
I hope this helps you get some traffic to your own website.

Promote your business with self publising

A great and unique way to get your company's name out there is by publishing your own book.
Read below to learn how to get started.
First, Gather Your Material:
When you are looking to create your own company book, you should make sure that it contains only the highest quality photos, and nothing but well-written copy.
To that end, your creative team (even if that is just you alone) needs to sit down and create a strategy for the book.
Start by thinking of who your target audience is going to be. Is the purpose of the book to attract new clients? Is the purpose to gain some local press? Is it simply a gift for your employees and current clients? All of the above? Deciding these matters from the very beginning will help guide the project throughout the process, and help to keep you focused.
In the beginning stages, gather as much information that your company has out there, in whatever form, including brochures, booklets, annual reports, and web copy. Whatever printed material you and your company already have, get it all together in one place and let that be your starting point. What great and interesting parts do they leave out? Does your company, for instance, have a compelling story about its beginning stages? Did you overcome diversity to get where you are?
The main idea is to create a story arc, and to write it down in outline form in this stage.
Writing and Artwork:
Keep in mind that not all great books start at the beginning. You can, for instance, start your book at a particular turning point in your company's history and work outward and inward from there.
If you are not comfortable with the work of writing your company's book, hire someone to do it for you. The first place you might want to look is at the copywriter who helped you with your promotional material. Chances are he or she will be up to the task, or will know someone who is. This is a pert of the job that is central and vital to the quality of the entire project, so find someone whose work you trust, and be prepared to pay them what they are worth.
The same goes for your photographer and any graphic artists you may need to hire. The only thing worse than not having a book is having one that looks poorly conceived.
Printing and Binding:
Just as with the talent that helped you with your promotional book, you will not want to skimp on the printing. If you are going to use color photographs, you will need to get your pages printed with a high quality digital four-color process printer.
When it comes to binding your book, you have several options. You can send them to an online company, but you may also want to consider having your own binding machine on the premises so you can make any changes you need to at any time, and have your books ready to go in mere minutes. The machines that do hardcover binding are known as "thermal" binding machines, and start at under $100. These machines are incredibly simple to use, and are great for binding presentations, proposals and reports as well.

The ongoing battle against copycats when publishing online
This post is about something that is actually happening with one of our online products.
There are some people out there that want to make a quick buck without putting in the effort, no matter what the cost. As an example, somebody is copying one of our websites and simply changing our payment link to a payment link that goes directly to their own PayPal account.
So how does this affect our company? For starters, people that purchase from this other website are not getting the product being described. The real product offered from Swerd Publishing consists of hours of videos and hundreds of pages of information. Swerd Publishing even offers their product on DVD. However the copycat product is a simple eBook of just 80 pages. Not only that, the copycat uses our logos, company name and contact information.
People that purchase the copycat product think they are purchasing from us. They then contact us explaining that this is not what they expected.
This hurts our company reputation and website reputation. To date we have successfully taken over 40 websites offline and will continue to remove any further infringing websites that pop up in the future.
If you are a customer of Swerd Publishing and suspect you have purchased one of these "copy products" please contact us and provide as much information as possible.
We will then provide you with the steps necessary to get the product you expected at no extra cost.

To self publish or not?
Very few people ever think of self-publishing their website or blog content. Yet behind this simple thought lies a secret that has opened the flood gates of traffic for many.
I am not suggesting that you go out and publish a book (although this is even a better idea), what I am talking about here is online self-publishing. One of the wonderful things that the World Wide Web has done is turn millions of us into online self-publishers. You see by having a web site or blog, whether you acknowledge it or not, you are already self-publishing.
But it gets really powerful when a webmaster or blog owner goes beyond their own site and self-publishes their content elsewhere, in other people's sites. It becomes even more interesting when they go even further in self-publishing and create an information product from their web content and offer it for sale online. Some smart webmasters are even doing both but using the former to help sell the latter.
By creating and promoting information products based on your site's contents, you will often find that you are generating even more interest in the free content on your site. Since what is already on your site is similar to what you are selling, many people will want to examine it before they purchase your product. Others will want to glean as much as possible from it so as to avoid purchasing your product.
Are you getting an idea of the power there is in self-publishing your content?
Online Self-publishing Is The Future And the Future Is Already Here
According to a recent article in BusinessWeek magazine, blogging is rapidly redefining media worldwide. If we take a moment to consider the role blogs have been playing in recent elections, most notably the 2004 US presidential elections, then it becomes clear that this is in fact an understatement.
Blogs are at the forefront of online self-publishing and it is not surprising that they are a powerful online marketing tool these days, frequently used by many Fortune 500 companies in their marketing plans.

Whats new this week?
This week we are going to transfer one of our main products from a digital version to a complete physical package that will be sent to customers.
This pack will consist of 3 40 minute DVD's and a 60+ page fully binded guide.
So what do we have to do to make the switch?
The order process on the website will have to be completely re-modeled with new graphics/text and order forms will need to be changed to accept the customers shipping address. This is going to be our first physical product to be sold from a website as up until now we have only dealt with downloadable versions. Needless to say, it's going to be an exciting change for all of us at Swerd Publishing.
I will keep you updated on the whole process. Stay in touch!
